Having Fun around Maine

So how many times can I knock it in the water today?  Let's find out :)

Mom says just take your time and have fun.

Dad's all for that as well.

Me... Well we will see today...

It could have been a better outing... My shots were a bit off today... But we beat the rain.

Next up, a lighthouse Mom says she heard is cool to go to.

Hum... it doesn't look that far out... It might be though, perspective is a strange thing.

Come on Mom!  let's get out there.. don't want to get caught in another rain storm.

The HUGE rocks that make up the way out there are just dropped next to each other it seems.

Watch your step.. You wouldn't want to twist an ankle... Then while hobbling along, fall and twist the others...Then you'd have to crawl...

We made it to the end!  And the wind is really picking up out here... It is trying to blow Dad and I off..

It's much calmer when you have a lighthouse to block it :)

See... Mom's hair isn't blowing around all crazy when we stand here.

Well the waves are getting choppy, and Dad and I are a bit chippy... or is that just the rocks that need some chips off of them? :)

So Dad and I are going to rock out, on the rocks, all the way back on the rocky path.  Peace out dude!

** Along the way ** ... quick... duck... it's a big wave!  Let's take it out!

Afterwards, since it was raining again (we had to finish the long walk back from the lighthouse in the rain), we checked out the candlestick bowling.... It's tough...

Acadia - Part 3 of 3 - Around Acadia

Hey lets climb around on some more rocks!

These ones over by the thunderhole should be good ones ;)

I've climbed out on this outcropping to look around.

The ocean is quite clear...

Let's try moving around this part of it... I want to get closer.

Hi Dad!

I'll see you in a bit... I'm going to stare off into the ocean for a bit.

Acadia - Part 2 of 3 - Ocean Play

It's time to head to the beach in Acadia.  I've got my shark fin on, and I am ready to go!

Mom and me are heading off into the surf.

Seems we've hit it near high tide :)

And it's a bit cold....

Hum Mom... it is really cold....

Let's try to work are way to swimming in it huh?

To the shore!

With the waves crashing into us.

I can make it... I can make it...

Ahhhh It got me again!

Ah ha!  I've escaped and left Mom in the cold :)

Okay Dad ready to see something cool?

Back into the cool water I go!.

Dad found a good set of rocks to sit on and read.  While Mom and I played in the ocean.

Then we worked on a sand castle (right near the water so it could take it out)

We're having lots of fun!

I figure the water will destroy it soon enough.

Back into the water we go!

I'm going to try to surf the wave back to shore...

Although it's a bit hard with the life jacket to keep my feed ;)

I've gotcha Mom!

Just another day at the beach... A beautiful day at that.

Acadia - Part 1 of 3 - Cadillac MT

We're up on top of Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park!

Did you know that this year is the 100th anniversary of the National Parks and Acadia?

The views are spectacular...

As are the clouds!

Mom, Dad, and I make a good picture on the top of the mountain :)

It's a beautiful view!

Well Mom, Dad and I are going to go hike on the mountain for bit, see you soon.

Just have to navigate some rocks, and cliffs, and stuff.

I think we could hike all the way down... But Dad says maybe next time.

It's not that far a drop down this way Mom...

See!  There is always another cliff piece to wonder on to.

Or places to stop (Dad has some pictures of the hike below).

Well I guess we can head back up and around toward Mom...

I mean the car is that ways.....

And Mom did say maybe a fun treat after the hike..

So let's get back up the rocks and get to Mom... and a treat!

Sky is still pretty huh?

Okay now let's go find that treat Dad!

And now some views from the hike:
Dad an I, hanging out on the cliff face area, with a beautiful sky behind us...

And not much else :)

The path is relatively easy.

Just have to watch your step...

Or leap from rock to rock :)

But the views are worth it!

Even when climbing back up.
